Hello divers and parents,

The YMCA organization has decided to make the Aquatic Center the mecca for all aquatic sports including diving. Our program will now be affiliated with the YMCA however, I will be in charge of creating our monthly schedule, creating practice groups, determining our meet schdedule, etc. We are going to start the 2010-2011 diving with a fresh new start which makes it imperative for all parents to attend this months booster club meeting at 11am on Saturday, August 14th at the Y. This will be a collaborative meeting amongst Steve, the director of the YMCA, myself, and the parents of divers so that any of your questions can be answered. My goal is to have everyone informed and on the same page so we can continue working towards maintaining the current success of diving team as we start a new diving season. There will be a lot of information regarding the upcoming schedule and fees so please plan on attending the meeting.

The schedule for this upcoming week of August 9th will be as follows: Monday practice will be cancelled. On Tuesday we will have our new novice diving coach Courtney McClow attend and coach practice with myself. Several divers had the privilege of diving with Courtney a few months ago when she was helping out when Wendy was away at a competition. She too is every excited for the opportunity work with our talented divers. Tuesday I would like the national team to practice from 3-5 and Hotshots from 5-7. I would ask everyone to please be there on Tuesday even if you’re planning on taking time off. Practice for Wednesday through Friday will be held from 4-6:30.

The Pre team Schedule will remain as is for the rest of this month which is Mon, Tues, and Thurs 6-7pm. Ryan will continue coaching you all through the month. It is imperative that you all attend the meeting at 11am Saturday, August 14th at the Y as you all are an integral part of our team. The pre team is the future of our program and we will be putting a lot of emphasis and attention on this group. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I would like to thank everyone for your patience and support as we go through this upcoming transition. I am very excited to become the head coach of diving team and look forward to the continued success of our program in the future. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Mark Ruiz
